Chapter 6
Getting out of the vehicle swifty, Colleen shut the door behind her. She arrived at the Carlton home, she hoped that her dad would be happy for her. She knew he didnt want her to come back to town, for all the memories of her and JT were here. He didn't want to see her mope around regretting anything. Brad wanted her to stay in New York, that's where she belonged.
Making her way to the front door, Colleen sighed in bliss. She gave three good knocks on the door. Waiting anxiously, Colleen watched as the door opened. She was surprised to see Abby standing right before her. Abby gave her a mysterious look, she didn't even recognise her.
"Hi, there. Is your daddy home?" Colleen asked Abby. As she gave her a huge smile.
"Yea, hold on, let me go get him." Abby cheerfully said, while she walked int the back room.
A few moments later, Brad came walking to the door, he was surprised to see Colleen. Who wouldn't be, he hasn't seen her in five years.
"Hi, Dad." Colleen said, hoping he would give her a welcome greet.
"My god, Honey. Is that you? Come here, give me a hug." with that Brad pulled Colleen into a gracious home-welcoming hug. She pulled away and asked if she could come in. Brad agreed and greeted her into the living room. Colleen glanced around noticing everything had looked the same, she walked over to the fireplace and glanced at all the pictures. Scamming through them she notices there is one picture that doesn't quite fit. It was of her and JT at the Valentine Dance back in 2004. Colleen brushed the edge of the picture slightly with her finger, for she was remembering that night. JT had sang to her, but that was the night that made their relationship change forever. She didn't want to dwell on anything so she walked over to the lounge chair, and seated.
"How are you, dad? I have missed you." Colleen sighed while putting down her purse.
"Just great, honey. I am surprised to see you, why are you back in town?" Brad asked while he seated himself onto the couch.
"It's been so long, dad. I couldn't stay away forever. I needed to be here again. I needed to see everyone, all of my long-lost friends and family. I just couldn't stay away, I know you told me to, but I just had to refuse." she spoke in fastly. She was glad to get that off her chest, she was glad he didn't get angry.
"Well, honey. I understand. I just hope you dont regret anything. I have missed you, too." Brad replied as got up from the couch.
"Well you'll have to excuse me honey, I know we have a lot of catching up to do. But I need to get down to the office. Do you mind coming over for dinner, we can catch up then?" he asked as Colleen stood up from the chair.
"Why, of course not. I have places to visit, anyway. And yes, I will be over here when dinner time arrives." she spoke giggily. Brad leaned over and gave her a slight peck on her cheek. And she was out the door.
Wondering around the lake, JT was trying to come up with some idea's on how he could get his relationship back on the road with Colleen. He would risk anything to be with her again. He had made so many promises to her, but once she left there was no way he could keep those promises. But now was his chance to gain them back. He knew what he had to do. He was going to get Colleen into the game. But how?
